This is the project for the restoration of a heritage protected building in the Foz Velha. It comprises a doorway that belongs to a XVI century construction, being cited in the classification municipal paper that this element is contemporary to the Castle of Foz. Even being the presence of medieval elements partial in the layered-by-time ruin, we assumed that the building owns the value of antiquity.
Medieval European constructions that achieved our times, did eventually research enclosure from the public space. Coincidentally, contemporary local architectural tendencies seem to research enclosure, eventually to functionally protect themselves from the cars displeasure.
Our project is therefore based on the purpose of maintaining this character of the exterior shape. Solid appearance, closed to the exterior.
The project of a double bedroom single family house, comprises the creation of a new floor with a generous terrace accessible by the main suite, with the main purpose of providing better conditions of salubrity and habitability of the building.
